Program Highlights

  • Experiential Learning: In addition to classroom learning experiences that include organizing charity athletic events, tournaments, and competitions, you’ll complete 15 credits of practical experience.
  • Industry-Leading Technology: BU’s Sport Management program assures you are ready to enter the industry with the skills you need to succeed. You’ll be trained in leading sports technology including StatCrew, HUDL, and Dartfish. This technology, combined with state-of-the-art facilities, makes for a dynamic learning environment that mimics the real-world experiences you’ll face in your professional career.
  • Facilities: Faculty deliver courses in technology-enhanced classrooms with vast multimedia capabilities. Students can access open computer labs and campus wireless networks when using personally-owned devices.

Courses and Curriculum

Two important objectives drive coursework in the Sport Management major: the acquisition of practical experience and the development of expertise in industry-specific technology applications. Coursework is designed specifically to prepare you to excel in your career. Topics include Sport Marketing, Management and Leadership of Sport, Sport Business Finance, Sponsorship and Fundraising, Sport Law and Ethics, and Sport Media Communications.

  • External experience- Students will be able to explain and categorize all aspects of the day-to-day operations of a professional setting in an area of external experience, as well as discriminate the duties, rules, and responsibilities of professionals in the area of external experience.
